Wildcard Corp. Technology Leadership Scholarship

This scholarship was created by Talin Senner, founder of Wildcard Corp. and UW-Stevens Point Class of 2000, to encourage students to explore and find their passion in technology personally, academically and professionally.

Eligibility Criteria: Declared Major, or minor within The Department of Computing and New Media Technologies who demonstrates a personal and professional historic and future interest in Computer Systems Engineering, Programming, Hardware, Networking and associated technologies, who demonstrates a passion and interest in technologies, participates in campus activities, extracurricular programs or self-directed knowledge expansion in the Computer and Technology field. General GPA of 2.75 and a GPA in the major/minor of 3.0.

Selection Criteria:

  1. Applicants should submit a brief summary letter not to exceed 2 pages describing their historic interests and activities, future ambition and direction, links to source code they have written (e.g. Gitlab, Github, or other code repositories), both in and outside of the classroom, at work or personal projects involving technology. Applicant must cite examples, provide explanation and present genuine technology prowess.
  2. Submit two letters of recommendation: one from a professor in the major/minor and a second one from an individual within the university. Letters should comment on the student’s interests, skills, and abilities in the field of computer technology.
  3. Preference shall be given to those applicants utilizing open source, community driven projects, public code, technologies, systems, products and licensing models.
  4. All data should be submitted to selection panel via CDROM, USB flash disk or other digital medium and encrypted format.
